Together with Bin, we put together this book to document our time and work in the mountains. While it isn’t directly about my ceramics, it holds the raw spirit, the nature, and the quiet motivation behind everything I make.
Hidden high up in the Pyrenees mountains lies Nohèdes — a small village shaped by centuries of hard work. To someone passing through, the weathered stones and old terraces might look like relics of a forgotten past. But to us, restoring these ruins brought us face-to-face with what really matters: the people.
Far from a simple historical record, this book stands as a testament to a deeply shared journey. Over the years, our building team has worked hand-in-hand with us—navigating not only the stubborn weight of stone, but the profound trials of our modern world. We faced the deep isolation of the pandemic, the grief of losing those we loved, and the unpredictable economic challenges of our time. Yet, in those moments of absolute exhaustion, our family and friends arrived to carry us through.
Behind every stone wall is the story of someone who called this place home. Today, we carve our own stories into these mountains. At the end of it all, we are deeply grateful for the community that sustained us, proving that resilience is not just a relic of history, but a living, breathing bond.
